Google Buys Data Visualization Tech

In an apparent effort to see just how much geekier they can get, Google has purchased Gapminder's Trendalyzer software. According to Marissa Mayer, Google will use the tools to allow its users to make data/statistics more visual. You can try a sample visualization here.

One assumes that Google will combine this with its growing armada of webmaster tools and Google Analytics. However, I also would hope that they would let us use this on sites like Google Blog Search
