
Years ago Apple had a neat ad campaign called "What's on Your Powerbook?" that showcased interesting users and how they compute. I always had an affinity for ads like these as well as memes such as "What's in my bag?" They tell you a lot a bout a person and their character.
Google News has a personalization feature that, if you haven't seen it. is terrific. You can create a perpetual search and add it to your Google News page. Then you can re-order the page and share it with the world. I am curious what's on people's Google News pages. So I am posting mine for you to peruse here. If you like it you can copy it and make it your own.
As you can see from looking at my page, it's not particularly exciting. I use it as a way to find things to blog about. You'll note that it has sections on social networking, blogs, Google, Wikipedia as well as all of the default sections Google provides.
Now you might be saying, Steve, why not use RSS? I believe that RSS works best for rivers of news that you want cached. There are lots of topics I want to track but I don't care if I see every item.
