Visit the Apple Store in Second Life
Quick. Go download the latest version of Second Life and then teleport to the Apple Store. No, not the real thing but close! Someone has created an unofficial virtual replica of Apple's famed retail stores. They come complete with vintage Think Different posters and a virtual Genius Bar. Visit it while you can. More images here. How long before it shuts down? I give it until the end of this week. You can find it by searching for Aapl$tore or hit this SLURL to instantly teleport.

Why doesn't apple just purchase the store and use it to promote in game products? I'm sure plenty of people would purchase model iPods and computers .... or do they already have this?

I bet that other companies are going to jump on this bandwagon pretty fast....if you think about it, it could be really cool way to look at many product if they spend a tremendous amount of time on usability and browsing through the isles...like grocery shopping or walmart shopping. Not that is is a huge market yet, but I'm sure that they could make their money back and be in a great position of things really do take of.

There are several like this.. Sears, Circuit City, even car companies like Toyota (Scion) and Nissan (Sentra). Lots of brands trying to get in and relevant. Search for AOL Pointe or Vodafone. lol.

This is really neat... I just hope that the sue happy lawyers at apple don't try suing you.

Steve - My first thought was, what a shame if Apple shuts it down and doesn't let one of its fans pay them homage in this regard.
Then I realized that NN also has his own company represented in the same space. That changes everything. Apple should shut it down. NN may have good intentions, but he's using Apple as bait for folks to check out his business.
I'll skip the one bad apple or worm references...you get it.

You know it's a real shame that people think I am trying to make money off the back of "Tricking" people. The Store has now moved to it's perm position in Lebeda.
The wholoe point of AppL$tore has ALWAYS been to create a space for like minded people to celebrate Apple Macs. Also to offer support in some way. As an Apple Certified Trainer I am able to do this, hese the RL affiliation to my company and to a RL Apple Authorised training centre.
I would encorage people to make there own mind up about this build, and would welcome any comments. The little cash the store makes simply put..Pays for the Monthly Land fees. So the store can carry on running.
So in short this build does have some place in SL for Fans and fellow residents to share knowledge and generally have a chat.
