John's right. "User generated content" is a terrible phrase. Then again "conversational media" isn't perfect either since it still delineates that there are two camps - not one.

So, "social media" is a term on its way out; now "user generated content" is on the ropes? And "Web 2.0" is apparently soon to be 3.0 -- which also lacks any descriptive quality. Are there any new terms that people like? I like "new media," but it still needs explanation.
