My New Year's Resolution is to Highlight New Voices

My blogging New Year's resolution is to highlight new blogging voices. If you study the Technorati 100 list in 2003 and today you will notice lots of new names pop up. Still, I'm not satisfied.

More than ever I feel the need to expand my RSS reading horizons beyond the Techmeme crowd and in the process highlight some new blogs. I will link to these throughout 2007 via my del.icio.us database with the tag "newvoices." If you have a blog you think I should look at, please upload it to me on del.icio.us with the following tags - for:steverubel and newvoices. Please don't email it, just use del.icio.us and I will spot it in my RSS reader. The del.icio.us links I file away daily are published in my blog every night. I can't link to them all, but will share the gems.

I tried to add my blogs but don't really understand your instruction (how to do it) so here here are - you might already be familar with one my blogs -

and the other

Thanks Steve,
Marshall

Thanks Marshall. I definitely am well aware of the first, but not the second.

In terms of the instructions, when you upload a link to del.icio.us you can direct it to another user by using the "for" tag. So simply bookmarking a link and adding the for:steverubel tag puts it right in my aggregator.

I tagged you a few of the Rudius sites, I think you'll like them. As far as interesting voices go I don't think you'll find a better place.

philalawyer.net
devilmonkey.net
gaijinsmash.net
powerseductionandwar.com

Love the blog, internally, we all read it everyday.

Steve - great idea. When I was out walking this morning I was thinking about writing a post about how I find sites. I will post it later because I think a lot of times we all stay in our blog/site comfort zones. Same as eating at the same pizzeria, dry cleaning at the same laundromat, etc.

I just tagged my site to you in del.

I also noticed you will be speaking at the AlwaysOn event at the end of January. I will be providing some press coverage for CN and would love an opportunity to meet you and perhaps hold an informal interview. I will send you an email next week to see if you have an interest in meeting.

thanks and happy new year!

Steve, I'm grateful to see you using the influence you've developed over these years of blogging to serve its greater good. I said it a couple of years ago and I'll say it again, you are blogging's goodwill ambassador and one of its elder statesmen.

Then use Tailrank ;)

We index FAR more blogs than just the basic A-list....

Kevin

Global Voices Online is a good place, too: http://globalvoicesonline.org

Glad to see someone is looking out for the little guy. I just started a blog and I'll be sure to tag it for you next time I write a considerable post.

Steve, thanks for the new voices idea. Good to see. I'll be adding my blog to your database shortly.

Steve, pay more attention to MyBlogLog! There are a few blogs you could be interested in.
