Best Buy Sponsors Blog Roll-up
Kudos to Best Buy. The have partnered with Federated Media to sponsor the ultimate holiday shopping blog for gadget freaks. The site rolls up some of the best consumer electronics bloggers on the Web. This is a smart marketing idea, although it would have been nicer to see Best Buy participating too.








It would also be nice if they designed the site in a way that is readable! Blue text on a blue backround is frustrating. I practically have to put my nose to the screen to read it.

This is a sponsorship that definitely makes good business sense for Best Buy, given that all of the ads plastered across the blog make Best Buy just a click away for consumers to purchase some of these gadgets that they’ve just read about. To me, the blog has credibility though, because it offers links to many different sites that are not associated with Best Buy for consumers to learn about and buy these products.
I agree that it would have been nice if, in addition to sponsoring the blog, someone from Best Buy actually contributed content as well. I did find it interesting, however, that Best Buy went one step beyond sponsoring the FM Holiday Guide and has also bought advertising on some of the individual blogs of the FM Holiday Guide’s authors, such as streettech.com and uncrate.com
