Why Blogs Are Different #99: They Thank Their Advertisers

A lot of times people want to know how blogs are different than the mainstream media. There are a myriad of responses, but here's one thing you never see the good ol' MSM do. Blogs regularly thank their sponsors for supporting them. TechCrunch, Valleywag and many advertiser-supported blogs do this frequently. When was the last time you saw a TV network thank a sponsor? Exactly.

Not that long ago, actually. The TV network usually thank their sponsors when a show ends.

I am agreeing with Haochi. Besides, with product placement in television shows these days, I would argue that the network appreciation was implied.
