Verizon Debuts Policy Blog
John Czwartacki, Executive Director/External Communications for Verizon, points out in comments that the company has launched its first blog. It covers technology and telecom policy. The blog "seeks to encourage intelligent discussion of public policy issues affecting the telecommunications industry and Verizon in particular." The commenting policy is posted here. It's clear they do not want to use this particular blog for support issues.

Steve, thanks for the mention!

I would note, however, that Verizon did not do adequate due diligence (i.e., a Google search) to discover that my blog is named PoliBlog and that I have been blogging for almost 4 years and am approaching 1,000,000 on my SiteMeter.
I have a solid nice in the political side of the Blogosphere and while I have contacted Verizon about the name issue, they seem to believe that they can usurp the name.
Given that Verizon is now taking advantage (understandingly) of the blogging environment that individual bloggers such as myself helped establish, it seems to me that they could be better Blogospheric neighbors and find their own unique blog name.
