Rollyo Adds Blog Search and More

Rollyo is a terrific tool that lets you create a search engine to your liking that only scans certain universe of sites. I have created an interactive marketing search tool that you can access from my blog directly or here. Last night they rolled out an update. It includes a handy bookmarklet and more. Michael Arrington posts more details. The most important addition is a new blog search tool.

If you run a basic web search on Rollyo, which is powered by Yahoo Search, it will now layer in a snippet of news and blog results. A link points you to a full set of blog search results. Here's a sample blog search for TechCrunch. The blog search tool does a nice job. It seems to provide more results than Yahoo's blog search tool (compare Yahoo's results on the same search.)

As a next step I would love to see Dave Pell - Rollyo's creator - give the user the ability to create the ultimate social media search tool. This would enable a scan of MySpace, YouTube, blogs and more from a single box. RSS feeds would be nice too. Also, right now the blog search utility is hard to find. Hopefully Dave will give it a drop down option off the home page. Good stuff.
