One in Nine Brits Blog

One in four British Internet users keeps a blog, which the Guardian calculates to 27 million across the UK or seven million bloggers. This comes out to about one in nine people. However, the same study found that the British public still puts a lot of trust in media. Some 80% of those surveyed by ICM said theyy trust the mainstream media more than they do bloggers. This is consistent with the 2006 Edelman Trust Barometer (PDF page 22), which found that 15% of Europeans believe in bloggers.
