Go Surfing on Work Time
Barbara Bacci Mirque at the ANA (the trade association that represents all the big marketers) says I got her in trouble at work. She was caught red handed playing with YouTube.
This raises an important point. If you're going to get engaged with social media world, you need to live in it. You need to carve out time to watch videos or to surf Flickr or go on an expedition in Second Life. This playtime is critical because it leads to insights which leads to big ideas and new ways of marketing.
Don't forget to be a kid. This is a fun and exciting time. We're not watching Shamu from the sidelines anymore. We're swimming in the same ocean. Don't be afraid to get caught, but don't get eaten either!
