Guillaume Du Guardier, my colleague in France, keeps coming up with great stuff. I can't wait for him to teach me all kinds of new tricks when I visit Paris next week. His latest find is TalkShoe. Basically, TalkeShoe is like one of those 1-900 party lines. They give you the tools to host a live or recorded multi-person conversation, discussion group or talk show. Once it's wrapped, you can have it reside on the site as a podcast.
Here's where TalkShoe really gets interesting. They have a program in the works that pays podcast hosts every time someone downloads or subscribes to their podcast. In exchange, the hosts agree to have ads inserted in the stream. You can find an active directory of live/recorded TalkCasts here.
Now of course the site will be useless for generating podcasters if they can't attract advertisers. Still. I like the model. Everybody wins if they can make it work. The podcasters get money. The advertisers get street cred. I wish them well. Good stuff.
