Prosumers Start Creating Their Own HD Shows

I recently purchased a HDTV and I was shocked how little content is available in full 1080i high definition. Thankfully, a lot of sports programming is. While the US Government mandates that all signals must be broadcast in digital by 2009, there are consumers that are already rushing in to fill the void.

mariposaHD is one such example. The show covers beauty, adventure and style and is produced out of Argentina. It claims to be the world's first high definition show distributed over IPTV. It's recorded, edited, and distributed in the full resolution of the 1080i HD standard. More importantly, because of its size the show is distributed on BitTorrent. The content can be viewed on a PC, HDTV, or a video iPod.
