Marketers Will Answer to Yahoo

Yahoo! Answers is on a heckuva tear, says Search Engine Watch. It's on its way to becoming another major galaxy where consumers create, consume, connect and share. Some stats...

* There are more than 10 million answers posted
* 4.2% of the US browsing public has visited the service at least once
* It is the third largest reference site on the Web, behind Wikipedia and Dictionary.com
* Google Trends and Technorati are reflecting the rising interest as well

So as Yahoo Answers attracts eyeballs it's highly likely that they will try to monetize the service beyond just pay-per-click ads. I would love to see Yahoo create distinct branded sections where a sponsor can create a place for a third-party expert to answer questions in a specific vertical.
