YouTube Goes Mobile

CNET is reporting that YouTube has launched a mobile upload service that enables people to post videos by simply sending them via email to a special address. This is a big deal for citizen journalism.

Last year when London was attacked by terrorists and when the tsunami hit Southeast Asia, the first photos appeared on Flickr. The next time there's a terrorist attack or a major natural disaster, we'll be talking about video. The first vids will show up on YouTube and other video sharing sites. The phones are getting more sophisticated and people - at least the more expressive among us - are upgrading them more frequently, especially in Europe. This means more video and more citizen "reporting."
