Myspace Launches Ad-Supported IM

The juggernaut continues. MySpace has launched an instant messaging platform, Mashable reports. if you take a look at screen grab below you will note that there's space for a banner ad. It is fascinating to see AOL and MySpace going head to head after each other's turf all in an effort to court marketers hungry for teens. It's like a Web 1.0 company (aspiring to become a 2.0) taking on the crowned prince of Web 2.0.

Speaking of Pete Cashmore and Mashable, he's got an interesting experiment going with IndieKarma, a new service that allows its members to automatically pay a penny to the blog owner whenever they visit.

(Fine print: MySpace is an Edelman client but I have no involvement with this account)

Cool! Now I can chat up chicks faster than ever!

i want a myspace im

I like MySpace a lot, but I really don't like the IM client. Instead I use the eBuddy client at www.ebuddy.com. It's very easy to use, everywhere available and you can even use different chats (like MSN, AOL, Yahoo, AIM, MySpace etc). Highly recommended!

Sandy, I agree. Ebuddy really works great. I use it @ work.
