BBC Opens an API

The BBC has launched an experimental API for software developers. An API is basically a data stream. The way to think of it is like a coat rack. Software developers and mashup (defined) makers craft "coats" with hooks that can attach to these racks . On their site, the BBC has some nice examples for how their API can be used. For example, there's a Google widget and more. (Via MoMB)

There may be similar RSS-type APIs already in existence... my web-surfing subconscious is telling me this... :-)
