iSift

iSift at first blush looks like another digg clone. The Web application allows you to submit an article that will be reviewed by all and will be elevated, based on popularity, to the main page. From a look at the tag cloud, they're just getting started.

It's interesting that everyone always says "another digg clone".

It seems to me that linkfilter.net has been doing what digg does for about six years. The only difference is that linkfilter users don't have the filtered list as their mainpage by default. Rather they can choose different filters to set at their hompage.

I'm not saying that digg ripped them off, because I don't think they did. I do think linkfilter.net came first, though.

The same thing probabley happened when blogs first started. Someone came along with the first blog site and many others soon followed. I guess it's OK as long as each new site that comes long offers something a little different. I think it's all part of the evolutionary process.
