Google Local Gets Ads

I'm not certain if this is new or not, but Shimon Sandler says that Google Local now has sponsored placements. As you can see from the screen grab below, I was able to verify this.

This is an alternative form of ads in Google Local. Different from the blue pins.

yeah I never noticed the colur of the pins. interesting.. when we caught the alpha stage it was in blue.. but your UI shows pins in red .. !!

Google is getting close to how the gaming industry is using ads. Like the handheld gaming device from http://www.gizmondo.com/
