Daniel Gross thinks the blog bubble is about to burst. He's basing this on the number of magazine cover stories that have chronicled blogging, equating it to the dot-com era hype.
For now, let's just give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he's right - blogging as a business dies. Who cares?
The important thing to watch from my purview is the larger trend. Did Internet commerce go away because Pets.com died? Nooooo. Same thing here. Even IF blogging goes away, the bigger story here is that consumers have the desire and power to virally spread ideas thanks to easy-to-use publishing tools. That's not going to change anytime soon.
