Google Launches a Killer Mobile RSS Reader

Google has once again answered my prayers for a mobile RSS reader with the launch of the Google Mobile Personalized homepage. Not only can you scan feeds on this page, but the links are automatically transcoded into a mobile-browser friendly format! For example, here are some mobile-friendly pages from the blogs on my personalized page: TUAW, Lifehacker, Scobleizer and even memeorandum.
Robert, does this answer your 2006 wish for mobile-friendly blogs?

I like it, but I prefer Bloglines Mobile as my mobile aggregator. Two reasons: 1. For its synching capabilities and 2. For its ability to store a lot of feeds on a mobile browser.
I don't think Google Personalized comes close to Bloglines Mobile IMHO. Having the same number of feeds on Google Personalized Mobile as I do on Bloglines Mobile would be a scrolling nightmare.
But what it is great for is having your email, location's weather and a few selected favourite feeds in one place. It will be interesting when they add new features to the personalized page as their current set aren't too good. Horoscopes, games etc.
I like it how you can click on an unread email and it goes straight to Gmail mobile but wonder why they haven't put a link to Google Mobile Search in there?
In fact, I hope they don't consider it only as a mobile RSS reader. The mobile web can be used more than just for reading feeds.

Dear Steve,
it seems that the link to the google mobile personalized home page posted on the official google blog doesn't work. At the moment, to access service you need to type http://www.google.com/xhtml

Having access to all the info you need on a mobile phone in just one shot, anywhere, anytime: that's actually a pretty cool technology.
Keep up the good work! Your blog is really cool!

I think that this is an okay solution. A browser based solution. But mobile offers so much more than just browser based rss feeds. What about caching? for reading later. I think that Google approach is okay. But a mobile 2.0 solution like www.mobilecatcher.net is much better. check them out.
