Apple Launches Blog and Podcast Server
Apple has quietly launched a blog and podcasting server for the education market. The server dishes out course content and supplemental materials for students (as well as professional development offerings for educators) for automatic delivery to iPods.
In addition, Apple has also started up a new podcast (ITMS link), called The Apple Digital Campus Podcast. It features conversations with leading thought leaders and practitioners on technology's impact on higher education. Last, but not least, they have published this guide to creating a podcast (PDF). Steve,
This isn't a new product, it's an update to Mac OS X Server 10.4 and isn't restricted to the education market. The podcast features are found in the weblog module (blojsom) when a user creates a new weblog entry and clicks the Advanced button in the entry form. The weblog module handles the file upload and creates the appropriate RSS 2.0 feed with the enclosure. Very slick and simple. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I'm going to have to start using it for corporate podcasts here at work.

The server blogging application has actually been out for awhile now. This seems to just be a new application of it.

clearly goes to show how apple is atleast trying to brand itself "the education market" and podcasting and iPod. Branding as not only as a entertainment product.
