Some TypePad bloggers, myself and Seth Godin included, suffered some downtime earlier this week when a glitch caused all blogs with a URL beginning with “S” to go offline. (My original URL is steverubel.typepad.com.) They all came back online quickly. Unfortunately, they have lost a handful of the files I have uploaded to the blog (e.g. images). I was upset, but I gotta tell you getting an email from their CEO (PDF) today and a free six month extension to my account is gold in my bank. Way to go Six Apart. Very nicely handled. Clearly you have a proactive plan for dealing with these issues. Dell, you listening?
