Feedster has introduced a new monthly list of the top 500 blogs. What's notable is that it is not based solely on links, as Scott Rafer explains. He says...
First, links are not the appropriate basis for relevancy in the world of blogs; links are just one of many factors to consider. To make up for the difference in the short term, we did some editorial work to shore up the basic algorithms.
Scott, this is a neat idea, but can show us the recipe? How is it possible that my blog is on the list for August at #56, ahead of Jeff Jarvis, Dave Winer, Robert Scoble and Doc Searls? Something sounds off kilter.
