C:\ONGRTLNS.W95 and MSN, You're 10 Years Old!

Congratulations to Microsoft. Tomorrow, August 24, 2005, is the 10th anniversary of Windows 95 and the Microsoft Network, now known as MSN. (Ironically, it's also the anniversary of Vesuvius Day. Hmmmm.) How many of you geeks out there went to Incredible Universe at midnight 10 years ago to snag a copy like I did? I never thought I'd be back using a Mac 10 years later, but I am. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Heh, I remember going to the local CompUSA at midnight for the Win95 launch party. They had free pizza and a bunch of giveaways like free copies of "Windows 95 for Dummies"
I remember being a beta tester for Windows 95 too - they shipped the beta on a bunch of 3.5" disks in some strange format that yielded 1.7MB / disk. The first time starting up Win95 and being amazed by the brand new interface... ahhh to be 12 years old again ;)

I'm an MS employee, and sadly enough--nothing on campus today mentioning the anniversary. :( I was 13 when Win95, and thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread.
