Small is the New Big

Seth Godin has one of the best blog posts I've ever read. He says small is the new big. This line sums up my blog's raison d'etre ...

BoingBoing (four people) has a readership growing a hundred times faster than the New Yorker (hundreds of people).

I like BoingBoing but the comparison isn't misleading. You would never expect two such companies (a startup and a 75-year old company to be growing at the same rate.)

Er, is misleading.

What a load of crap. Did you take basic stats 101, Steve? I know you're using this platform to sell your services, but you'll need to be a little more persuasive than posting really stupid stuff like this.

By this measure any #200 Web site looks better than almost any print publication more than three years old.

Also, the New Yorker actually publishes original information. Boing Boing publishes no original information. If the New Yorker and other print publications like it were to disappear there would be nothing for Boing Boing to snarkily comment upon.
