Jeremy Wagstaff, a reporter with WSJ.com/The Asian WSJ, takes Microsoft's PR army to task via his blog because of their inability to get back to him in a timely matter on a product review. Jeremy writes...
Do they have no idea what a journalist needs? If they don’t, I can tell them: A quick response, an absence of searching questions that aren’t relevant and are, indeed, considered intrusive, and a good understanding of what the word ‘deadline’ and the phrase ‘not being hopelessly late with a review of a new product’.
Ouch! That's like getting thrown head-first into the turnbuckle. The PR pros are lucky Jeremy didn't mention them by name. You know we're entering a new era when reporters take the gloves off via their blogs. The question is, will PR pros fight back or will we just take what the journos dish out? I say take the high road, but not everyone will.
