Forbes Ranks Celebs by Their Web/PR Footprints

Forbes has published its annual Celebrity 100 list. What's interesting is that they are ranking celebs by not only their income, but by their press coverage and their Web footprint. It's not clear how they calculated the latter, but a quick check on Google shows that many of these online mentions may come from blogs. Here's a look at the blog results for the top five celebs ranked by web presence...

Interesting. By the way, Blogpulse tracks the "blog footprints" of celebrities on a daily basis:

Cool idea to check that. It's also interesting to see how it looks against the results without "blog" - for example, I get:

"Bill Clinton" blog == about 765,000
"Bill Clinton" -blog == about 4,050,000
"Bill Clinton" == about 5,810,000

(discrepancy not surprising, the "about" is a very serious caveat with Google).

Searching Google News I get about 6,070 without "blog" and only about 48 with, but the top of the latter category is a Wash Post article.

None of this amounts to statistics, but it's still enlightening.
