Pepsi Exec Faces a Challenge from Bloggers

Mike Elgan reports that Pepsi President and CFO Indra Nooyi was forced by bloggers to apologize after she compared the U.S. with a hand's "middle finger" during a commencement address at Columbia University. She said the five continents are like the five fingers of a hand, with America as the middle finger and Africa as the pinkie, and the U.S. must be careful when we "extend our arm." Mike writes...

Bloggers went nuts, and forced her to make an apology that was actually posted on the Pepsi home page.

Kudos to Pepsi for listening and reacting appropriately and quickly.
