Newspaper Gives School Official a Blog

The St. Petersburg Times in Florida has given a local newsmaker his own blog on the paper's Web site, E&P Online reports. Clayton Wilcox, the Pinnellas County superintendent of schools, has written an education blog for the Times since March 13. This sounds in theory like a great idea, but why limit it to one school official? Why not just give everyone a blog?

You're missing the real story in this Steve. There's a post with 580 responses regarding the 5 year old girl that was handcuffed on video tape a few weeks back. That type of open forum for discussion are what blogs are all about!

Oregonlive.com, which feeds The Oregonian's news has created quite a stable of talented bloggers. Most of them cover various neighborhoods around Portland, but several of them, like mine, cover general lifestyle topics.
