Are There People Who Need Preople?

As if we didn't have enough tools to check our blego, there's word from the great European PR blogger, Neville Hobson, of a new service called Preople. He calls Preople "an intriguing-looking web tool that ranks your name based on a complicated calculation on how many times your name is found in a few search engines." However he notes, as do I, that the service is a bit perplexing. For example, Neville and I are in virtually the same position. There are 1,756 names that have a higher Preople Ranking than Neville and 1,728 for me, yet he is ranked 7,090 and I am ranked 89,200. I don't get it. Sounds to me like we should be on par. Nice concept, but strange execution.
