I was tempted to vote for Steve following his plea - then I noticed that I'd not heard of the three other nominees. Would be ethical to vote for Steve when I haven't seen the others?

Steve doesn't need your ethical vote, he can vote for himself 10,000 times. The Internet is a wonderful place, where you can be anything you want to be!
