Jason Kotkke Turns Pro

Congrats to Jason Kottke, a popular blogger who today decided to make blogging his full-time gig. A journalist with a major trade publication emailed me why I think this is a compelling story. My answer is simple. For one, it's another sign that "A-list" bloggers can actually make a living from their blogging. I bet that this will soon hit the "B-list" crowd as well. More importantly, I feel moves like Kottke's will encourage bloggers to  "turn pro" as a means to an end - a coveted book deal or new job.
