Howard Dean Paid Bloggers

More evidence we're living in a new media world with few rules. David Akin notes that The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that the Daily Kos and another blog received $3,000 a month for four months from the Howard Dean campaign. The story reports that the bloggers disclosed on their blogs that they received funds from the Dean campaign.

UPDATED 1/16/05: Daily Kos yesterday posted the Dean campaign's side of the WSJ story.

So they were paid, but they said they were being paid.
Isn't that something like Marqui's "blogadvertorials"?
I don't see anything bad about it.

If the guys were saying smoking is good, that would be a problem. But, hey, they were writing about something they believe in and were giving some advice to Dean's team to take full advantages of the blogosphere.

Would you blog for a company who is willing to pay you?
I will if I really believe in the company's message, disclose it and feel free to encourage others to do it.

Cheers,
