[Note - Please see comments. This post has been updated/toned down because I agree with BL that it was a bit unfair]
There's been a lot of moaning and groaning rumblings this week in the PR community about the PRSA's lack of interest or ability to add a blogging track at the 11th hour their upcoming International 2004 Conference (October 23-26). You can read more here, here, here, and here.
To be quite frank, it's time for action. Here's what I am going to do about it - I am going to host an online event here and I welcome other PR bloggers to do the same.
To coincide with the PRSA conference, beginning Saturday, October 23 and continuing through the Tuesday, the 26th I am going to run as many Q&As interviews with high-profile bloggers as I can. I will quiz them on their thoughts on future of media and how they prefer to work/not work with PR pros. The goal - to create a living center of knowledge that all PR people and PRSA conference attendees can regularly turn to. If the PRSA wants to promote this in their own literature and/or events, cool. If other PR bloggers want to join me in doing the same, all the better. If you want to criticize me, go for it. If you want to be interviewed, email me. But please, let's stop talking and start acting, people. It's time to get to work.
