Scoble Scoops Me on My Own Wedding

Well, there's no need to hold back anymore. Scoble broke the news this afternoon and, in typical blogosphere fashion, it's already spreading. Tomorrow night I am getting married to my longtime sweetheart, Lisa (pictured above). This blog will go dark in honor of the big day...but I will be back on Monday. I am going on my honeymoon later this year and have been banned from moblogging it, so I am working to line up some respected guests to fill in. More to come in a few weeks.
Like many bloggers, I spend a few, ok many hours each week blogging, reading RSS feeds, answering your emails and even helping out fellow bloggers when I get the opportunity. I started this site back in April because I felt compelled to evangelize the tremendous changes that are taking place in the PR industry as participatory journalism and blogging bloom. It has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life and I am so glad to have a tiny voice of this tidal wave of change. Still, it comes with a sacrifice and Lisa is the one who feels it most.
So, as I sit here and prepare to enter a new exciting chapter in my life I want to give props to Lisa Rubel. She exemplifies what many blogger husbands/wives must endure (ask Maryam Scoble!). Like Maryam, Lisa is an incredibly warm, caring soul who has heard more about blogs and blogging than probably she could ever possibly want to know. Yet, she listens to me go on and absorbs every word. (No, she'll never blog - believe me, but she should!)
Lisa, thank you for showing the blogosphere how to be the blogger's ideal spouse and for being my constant companion on this journey. Your patience and willingness to give me the time to blog is perhaps the biggest factor in its "success." This is just one of the gazillion reasons why I love you and I am thrilled to be your husband come tomorrow.
See you all on the other side.

You lucky guy. Your wife is gorgeous. Have fun. I remember my own wedding night as one of the best days EVAR.

Many congratulations, Steve and Lisa! I never persuaded my husband to start blogging, but one of my daughters now has a super blog ( http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/natureisprofligate/ ). Though it takes a few years from the wedding to daughters blogging...

Awesome news, Steve. I wish you two as much joy in marriage as my wife and I have found (just celebrated 10 years in May!).
