Micro Persuasion Endorses John Kerry for President

I have shied away from any significant discussion of politics on this weblog, but after seeing Fahrenheit 911 over the weekend, watching the debates and thinking about it a lot, I now feel compelled to officially endorse John Kerry for President.

The Kerry-Edwards team lists all their media endorsements on their weblog, but they should also expand this to include at least a list of the bloggers who have officially backed the ticket. After all, this is the same party that opened up its convention to the blogging community, right? Listing weblog endorsements is the next natural step.

I was at my desk in Manhattan on 9/11. I take my vote very seriously. For me, the choice comes down to which candidate is going to keep my loved ones safe from terrorists. I believe that John Kerry is the right man for this job. I have been impressed with the Senator's commitment to repair our relationships with our allies (which I believe suffered greatly under W), transform the military and free America from its dependence on oil. In addition, I feel he has a sound plan to strengthen the economy.

This concludes my first and hopefully last pre-election post on politics. It represents my own personal opinion and no one else's. I am not writing this to sway your vote. That's not my place. I am merely using the medium to exercise my right to free speech and also trying to hopefully convince the Kerry campaign to list more meaty endorsements than this very shallow one!
