CNET News.com is now allowing weblogs to "Trackback" articles they link to, according to this post by Matt Mullenweg. Here's a good explanation of what a Trackback is. Check out this sample page to see how CNET is executing this. Matt says in his post that Trackbacks are hidden deep in News.com's HTML code. Why is this significant? Because it means the day is fast approaching when news sites will look more like blogs and blogs will look more like news sites. The mass/micro media convergence is underway.
