The Washington Times today has an excellent overview story on the rise of blogging. It includes some interesting nuggets that show how blogging may represent a significant shift in the way people get their news and learn about new consumer products and services.
One example cited in the piece is the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA). Did you know they blog? ACCA is using the site to communicate directly with members. That's a very smart idea! This post explains why.
The Times says of ACCA ...
"The group is one of several businesses and organizations that are bypassing newspapers, magazines, billboards and other traditional media to take their message directly to consumers through blogs."
I am a big believer in blogging to communicate with constituents. In fact, it's why I am working with the Association of National Advertisers and others with their blogs.
Can you feel the interest in blogging for PR rising??
