Media Guerilla says there's a degree of speculation about certain print journalists taking full-time jobs as bloggers. "As far as some folks are concerned, it's not a matter of "if," but really 'when.'" So Mike Manuel's started an informal survey that asks: "If you had to guess which journalist might make the jump, who would you pick?"
Dan Gillmor, San Jose Mercury News
Tom Foremski, (formally) Financial Times
Jon Udell, InfoWorld
Hiawatha Bray, Boston Globe
Steve Gillmor, eWeek
Clever idea, but I think Mike may be jumping the gun here. We're getting close to the day when some high profile journalists will go solo via blogs, but it's going to take some time for the weblog ad spending to become a viable marketing practice. Mike should really add a "none of the above" to his survey to make it more viable.
